The Trumbull County Fair is just weeks away with the fair set to kick off Tuesday, July 8 and last until Sunday, July 13. Fairgoers can expect to see plenty of new additions this time around.

Fans of fireworks will be treated to a longer, more explosive show this time around with the fair getting a new pyrotechnic company involved in the form of Phoenix Pyrotechnics.

Kierstin Holmes with the Trumbull County Fair Board tells 21 News Phoenix promises a longer show this year with more fireworks including one called the "Napalm Firebomb" which is described as a huge fire explosion on the ground that shoots into the sky.

Holmes says this explosion will be visible throughout the entire fairgrounds.

The fireworks aren't the only thing getting an upgrade though. This year, the fair will have not one, but two demolition derbies with the first taking place Wednesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. and the second taking place Sunday, July 13 at 5 p.m.

Other new additions this time around will be the Stone Age Show featuring live dinosaurs, as well as cavemen performing comedy routines, juggling acts, acrobatics and more.

The Stone Age Show will take place each day of the fair.

Another new show this year is the Family Fun Circus featuring Cracker Jack the Clown. This show will also take place each day of the fair.

Other entertainment coming to the fair this year includes Jungle Terry, who will be on the Historical Stage Saturday at 1 p.m., and Julia Neville who will be performing a concert on the Bicentennial Stage starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets for the Trumbull County Fair are $3 on Tuesday with ride passes costing $10. Admission is $14 all other days. Admission includes admission to grandstand events, as well as all rides except for the mechanical bull.

Admission for seniors age 62 and over is $5 Wednesday through Sunday and admission is free for veterans and first responders with a valid ID Wednesday only.

You can also purchase a weekly pass for $23 and Trumbull County residents 18 years old and older can purchase a membership for $25 each year. Neither of these include rides.
