A woman who is already charged in connection with several thefts across the Mahoning Valley is now accused of yet another theft, this time in Canfield.
According to a police report, this incident happened at a pizza shop on East Main Street June 13 when surveillance cameras caught the suspect, believed to be 52-year-old Lisa Minerd stealing money from a tip jar.
According to the report, Minerd came into the store followed by another woman. Police say Minerd motioned for the woman to go in front of her and waited for her to leave and for the employees to go back to the kitchen area.
From there, police say Minerd took the tip jar from the counter and took it with her to the bathroom where she emptied it and pocketed the money, which totaled about $30.
In the days following the theft, police received calls from people recognizing the suspect as Minerd from other social media posts about her according to the report.
Police say one caller said they were a relative of Minerd and that she's had a long history of theft and has served prison time in the past.
Court records show Minerd is facing a misdemeanor theft charge and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
This is the latest of many ongoing theft cases Minerd is charged in. Other police departments have accused her of scamming cashiers out of money by claiming she got the wrong amount of change and another accused her of stealing over $700 worth of merchandise from a grocery store.
