A Girard youth softball coach who was recently charged with several counts of rape has been indicted.

According to a grand jury report, 40-year-old Shane Genetta was indicted on eight counts of rape, as well as one count each of gross sexual imposition and illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material or performance.

Genetta was originally charged in Girard court. At that time, he was only charged with two counts of rape in connected with incidents that allegedly took place as early as 2017 according to court documents.

However, this indictment shows even more rape charges, as well as the two additional felony charges including offenses that dated back further than 2017.

According to the indictment, Genetta's alleged crimes started in the summer of 2015 when the alleged victim was only six years old. The indictment alleges that around this time, Genetta had touched the alleged victim inappropriately.

Another new piece of information included on the indictment is that Genetta had allegedly taken a nude photo or video of the victim in March of 2025 when she was 16 years old.

The indictment states that Genetta's alleged crimes had continued to occur until May 20, 2025, which is just days before charges were filed against him. Girard court records show Genetta was first charged May 23

Genetta had previously worked as a softball coach for the Girard Youth Softball Association. All pictures of the team, which included Genetta in them have since been wiped from social media.
