'Race to End Hunger' gets set for 15th year in Hermitage

Runners, walkers and kids of all ages can lace up their tennis shoes for a race that is returning for its 15th year in August.

The Mercer County Food Bank is hosting the 'Race to End Hunger' that includes a 5K, two-mile walk and a Kid's Fun Run.

A variety of awards will be presented such as a top male and female overall, a top male and female across several age groups and ribbons for those participating in the Kid's Fun Run.

The race kicks off on Saturday, August 2 with registration beginning at 7 a.m., the Kid's Fun Run starting at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K and walk beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Races will begin at the Training and Workforce Development Center at LindenPointe located at 3050 Prosperity Place in Hermitage.

The cost to participate is $20 for pre-registered racers and $22 for same-day registered racers.

You can sign up online or by mail-in. Registrations made by Monday, July 14 will include a guarenteed race t-shirt.
