Trumbull County MetroParks budget approved for second half of the year

The second half of the budget has been approved for the Trumbull County MetroParks.

They were in need of $65,000 to operate for the rest of the year.

Back in April, county commissioners slashed the budget in half, along with several other departments because the county didn't have the money it needed.

"We should be able to get through the end of the year," MetroParks Executive Director Zachary Svette said. "We had a little bit of reserve but nothing crazy. We were able to pull out of that based on some savings we had in the beginning of the year and with me going to four days, it helped out. We're going to be pushing those resources back out into the parks' second half."

Svette said they'll once again be able to offer programs they have in the past, including the Pups-n-Pumpkins and S'mores Under The Stars events.
