A motorcyclist is dead following a crash in Hubbard Township Wednesday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP), the crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 2 at the intersection of U.S. Route 62 and Franklin Avenue.

Troopers say a Harley Davidson Fat Boy operated by 63-year-old Russell Davis of Vienna Township was approaching the intersection when a 2015 Toyota Scion xB driven by 76-year-old Virginia Dickey of North Haledon, New Jersey failed to yield at a stop sign and went straight through the intersection striking Davis.

Davis was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. Troopers say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Meanwhile, Dickey did not sustain any injuries.

At this time, it is unclear whether or not Dickey will face any charges in connection with this crash.

OSP is reminding drivers to stay alert for motorcyclists on the road.
