Valley July 4 events set for Friday, weekend
Here are events taking place around the Valley for July 4th events for Friday and Saturday.
MAHONING
JULY 4
- 47th Annual Austintown 4th of July Parade on Friday, July 4 at noon: It will begin at the intersection of Raccoon Road and Kirk Road in Austintown. There will be a 'quiet zone' from Fitzgerald Road to Burkey Road to ensure sensory accessibility and inclusion, allowing children to feel comfortable and enjoy watching the parade.
- Austintown Historical Society Annual July 4 Ceremony: 3797 S. Raccoon Road. From 9 am to 10 am, featuring Austintown Fitch Color Guard, and speaker from American Legion Post 301 and 9-11 Memorial. Continental breakfast, cabin open hosue following ceremony.
- Canfield 4th of July Parade: Friday, July 4. Begins at 10:10 am, leaving Canfield Fairgrounds heading to the Green. Other events at the Green include 8:15 am Kids Race; 8:30 am Firecracker 4 Mile Run. Around 11:30 am at the Green, the band Backbeat will perform from the Gazebo.
- First Fridays 4th of July Collaboration: Raymond John Wean Foundation Park events start at 6 pm through 10 pm. Food Trucks and games; Music includes 6-6:45 pm: Leo D'Angelo and The Dead Foxes (Americana, Traditional Blues, & Folk); 7-7:45 pm: Rev Gill and The Fishermen (Alternative Rock & Jazz Fusion); 8-8:45 pm: DreWonka and The Groovealoompas (R&B & Hip Hop); fireworks at dark.
- Struthers 48th 4th of July Parade 5K and Kids Fun: Events taking place at Struthers High School at 11 am. Parade starts at noon. Parade route is Fifth St. north to Sexton St. , Poland Avenue to Smithfield St.
- Sebring Parks 4th of July Celebration: Friday, July 4 at Southside Park on W. Texas Ave. Events include berakfast at St. Ann's Church on S. 15th St from 8 am to 11 am; Chalk drawing on sidewalk event at pool from 8:30 am to 4 pm; 9 am Firecracker 5K begins; 10 am Jr. Olympics featuring water games age groups 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12; Noon Bounce Hosue opens; 12:30 pm Annual Police vs Fire Department softball at Southside Field; 2 pm Kickball (arrive early to register); 2-4 pm Pool games; 3 pm Basketball tournament; 6-10 pm Food & live music; 9:45 pm Reading of Declaration of Independence; Fireworks at dark.
JULY 5
- Youngstown: The Finale - We Love Outside 4th of July Bash, 460 E. Federal St.. 10 pm to 2:30 am featuring music with DJs, sponsored by Penguin City Brewing Co. Admission price is $10 per person.
JULY 5
- East Rochester 4th of July Fireworks at Fireside, 6940 Rochester Rd. Saturday, July 5, beginning at 5 pm; live DJ, food trucks, fireworks at dark. Admission is $10 per carload.
TRUMBULL
JULY 3-4
- Newton Falls Community Park: July 3 and July 4th of July Festival, 4 to 11 pm each day. Food to purchase, entertainment, rides, and fireworks. Sponsored by the Apple Cart.
JULY 4
- Howland 4th of July Parade: 8189 E. Market Street, Howland Center. Parade begins at 10 am, ends at Howland High School. Food trucks open at 9 am at Ricahrd E. Orwig Park, live music, activities with Scouts.
- Gustavus 4th of July Homecoming and Parade: Click here for map of events and locations. 9 am Registration for later events; 10am: Presentation of Colors, The National Anthem; parade begins. 11 am events move to Gustavus Twp. Park. 11 am, Petting Zoo (near pavillion); Tot King & Queen contest; 11:10 am Turtle Races; 11:30 am Cornhole tourment begins; 11:45 am Kiddie tractor pull; 12:30 pm basket raffle drawing plus concessions available.
- Niles 4th of July Parade: starts at 11 am on Friday, July 4, and will go down Main St.
- Niles Car Show and Craft Fair: 11 am to 4 pm, 14 E. State St. with food trucks, music, vendors, 50/50 raffle, and more.
- Center Brook Civil War Living History, 8745 State Route 45, North Bloomfield. Open House and demonstrations, from 10 am to 4 pm, featuring a walk through of the Civil War home of Lt. Leicester King of the 7th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Civil War artifacts, and a Civil War Hospital Group from Pennsylvania will talk about medical equipment of the era and how they treated wounds in the field. There will also be artillery demonstrations and activities for kids. Will also have Civil War reenactments. Donations accepted for admission.
COLUMBIANA
JULY 4
- Rogers 4th of July Eat and Ride: 46696 State Route 154. 11 am through 7:30 pm. Pot Luck dinner (bring your favorite dish), free primitive camping sponsored by Bull Run Raceway.
- 4th of July at Rogers Flea Market: 45625 State Route 154, Rogers. Admission $6.11 per son, includes music from the Wrangler Band 2 pm; Billy Likes Soda 5 pm; CJ Solar 8 pm; follwed by fireworks at 10 pm.
- Fireworks at Firestone: A day full of events scheduled, including 8:15 am Pickleball Tournament; 8:30 am Fishing contests at Mirror Lake; 10 am Pet contests and parade; noon cornhole tournament; 6 pm ice cream eating contest; 7 pm watermelon; 7 pm Lonesome Highway Band; 7:30 pm Skydivers; 7:30 pm honor guard American Legion Post 290; 10 pm firework show.
MERCER
JULY 4
- Grove City Block Party, 120 E. Main St. at East Main Church. Starts at 8 pm. Free food, live music and games fro all ages. Viewing location for fireworks.
- 4th of July in Grove City: Music and fireworks, starting a t 8 pm with the Harrisville Community Band performing at the Grove City High School Football Field. At 10 pm, fireworks begin.
