The Board of Mahoning County Commissioners appointed a new executive director on Thursday.

Hollie Musolino-Goodin will serve as the new executive director, being promoted from her previous position at the Mahoning County Commissioners Office.

The executive director title is new for the board as it replaces the Administrator position while covering more duties.

Musolino-Goodin has worked for the Mahoning County for four years, first serving as Deputy Clerk and recently becoming Chief Deputy Clerk to the Mahoning County Commissioners.

Musolino-Goodin will become the main source of contact for the commissioners. Her tasks will include taking phone calls, organizing staff meetings and work directly with county commissioners.

"This position will coordinate a lot of those functions, but will bring the meat and potatoes of what we deal with day in and day out. Budgeting, getting letters written, answering constituents, she has done that and she will continue to do that," said a Mahoning County Commissioner Anythony Traficanti.

He added that the transition of the new position will be an easy one because Musolino-Goodin already acquires the knowledge and understanding of what goes on during government functionalities.

Just recently, Audrey Tillis retired from her position as Mahoning County Administrator. Traficanti says more are on the horizon, but the board is prepared and will have a plan in place for when that time comes.
