Scattered showers and storms back in the forecast on Monday

The work week will start on a quiet note with some Monday morning sunshine. Clouds will begin to increase around midday as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Scattered showers and storms are likely to occur for a time this afternoon, with a few heavy downpours possible. Between the raindrops, it will be warm and muggy, with a mix of sun and clouds.

Showers and storms will taper off this evening, but clouds will hang around into early Tuesday morning. A stray sprinkle cannot be completely ruled out in Columbiana County, but the rest of the area will stay dry. Cloud coverage is expected to decrease on Tuesday afternoon, and high temperatures will be around average, in the low 80s.

A mix of clouds and sun is expected on Wednesday, with high temperatures in the mid-80s. A stationary front to our south will lead to unsettled weather for the back half of the week, especially on Thursday and Friday.

Both of those days will start off dry with partly cloudy skies, but isolated showers and storms will become possible during the heat of the day. Otherwise, it will be warm and muggy, with high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s.
