Forty to fifty American Flags reported stolen from patriotic display along Glenwood Avenue

BOARDMAN A man who helps Boardman celebrate patriotic holidays is reporting the theft of between 40 and 50 of the American Flags he plants in neighborhoods each year.

A police report did not disclose the name of the man who reported that the flags were found missing on Friday, July 4, along Glenwood Avenue, between Rockland Drive and Boardman High School.

The man who reported the theft stated they place American flags throughout the township annually for the holiday.

Residents in the area told police they saw the flags in place on Thursday, July 4. The person reporting the theft did not know who took the flags or the exact time they were taken.

The man did not wish to pursue charges at the time but indicated he might in the future.
