The Mahoning County OVI Task Force in collaboration with the Ohio State Highway Patrol will conduct an OVI checkpoint Friday, July 11.
The checkpoint will be conducted in the area of 1051 South Raccoon Road in Austintown, according to a news release.
The checkpoint will be in place from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The checkpoint will also be accompanied by saturation patrols from various law enforcement agencies across Mahoning County to keep impaired drivers off the road.
A 1990 Supreme Court ruling said holding sobriety checkpoints without first notifying drivers would violate the Constitution's provision barring illegal search and seizure.
The ruling did not spell out what was considered an adequate notification.
