Following the 4th of July weekend, gas prices continue to go down both in the Valley and nationwide, according to AAA East Central.
According to this week's gas price report, the price of gas in Northeast Ohio has decreased by $.15, averaging around $2.87 per gallon.
The average price of gas across the Valley is $2.853 per gallon which is a $.13 decrease from the week before. The cheapest county per gallon is Trumbull County, with an average price of $2.846.
Niles and Youngstown's average gas prices are even lower than the average for their respective counties, with Youngstown's gas price averaging around $2.837 and Niles at $2.821. Nile's average price went down $.19 per gallon in one week.
Ohio's average gas price is $2.847 per gallon, a $.13 decrease from last week's report. In terms of how the state compares to the rest of the country, Ohio has the 12th lowest national average gas price in the nation.
The most expensive state in terms of average gas price remains California sitting at $4.56 and the cheapest state for gas would be Oklahoma at $2.693.
The national average gas price has went down by $.04, now being at $3.14 per gallon.
