Juvenile arrested in Warren after allegedly stabbing woman in hip

WARREN A juvenile in Warren was arrested on Monday after police say she stabbed a woman in the hip.

According to a police report, the incident happened at an apartment near the intersection of Valley Avenue and Lane Drive and stemmed from an argument between neighbors.

An acquaintance of the victim told police she had sent her seven-year-old daughter to the car to get a bag of food when a neighbor said something offensive about the seven-year-old prompting an argument between the occupants of the two apartments.

Police say at some point during the argument, the neighbor's juvenile daughter got a kitchen knife and stabbed a 19-year-old female victim in the hip. Police say the victim was not actively bleeding.

The victim further told police that the juvenile had punched her. Police say two other witnesses corroborated the victim's story.

According to the report, the juvenile was detained and taken to the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center. Police said they planned to speak with the Trumbull County Juvenile Prosecutor on potentially filing charges.
