National Guard near Newton Falls scheduled to use explosives in training for several days

Residents around Newton Falls should expect an increase in loud noise from Camp James A. Garfield as the National Guard prepares to train with explosives.

The special training will take place from Thursday, July 10 through Sunday, July 13.

Explosive sounds will be able to be heard from a further distance than normal.

There will be occasional explosions and gunfire throughout the annual traning season which is set to last through September.
