Bond has been set in the case of a Youngstown woman accused of defrauding nearly $5,000 from Medicaid.
According to court records, bond was set at $1,000 for 37-year-old Janay Veal, who is currently facing a charge of Medicaid fraud, as well as a felony theft charge.
Veal is one of 13 Medicaid providers accused by the Ohio Attorney General's Office of defrauding the company. The AG's Office said Veal continued to bill for services after removing herself from a recipient's plan of care.
Additionally, Veal is accused of billing for days when a relative of the recipient provided the service.
In all, Veal is accused of stealing $4,923 from Medicaid.
There is no word yet on when Veal will be back in court.
