SUV fire prompts arson probe on Youngstown's North Side

YOUNGSTOWN  An arson investigator was called out early Thursday after flames broke out in an SUV next to a building on Youngstown's North Side.

City firefighters were dispatched before 5 a.m. to a reported vehicle fire along Wirt Street at Catalina Avenue. They found a Chevy Suburban on fire at a single-story block building.

More firefighters were dispatched when those on the scene became concerned that it would spread to the building.

Flames gutted the SUV and caused minor damage to the building's exterior.
