More than two and a half years after a 61-year-old Lowellville woman was fatally struck while crossing a Nashville, Tennessee, street, members of her family are still waiting for a resolution in the case involving the driver charged.

Relatives of Amelia Lamping traveled to a Nashville courtroom Wednesday to attend a motion petition hearing for 26-year-old Julia Naldjian, who faces multiple charges in connection with a 2022 incident that resulted in the death of Lamping.

According to court records, Naldjian is charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident with a death, failure to give information or aid, failure to comply, and failure to file a report.

The charges stem from an Oct. 27, 2022, incident where police say Naldjian was driving an Alfa Romeo sedan that struck and killed Lamping as she was walking along a crosswalk in Nashville. Lamping died later at a hospital.

The damaged Alfa Romeo was found the following day, abandoned about 3 miles from the accident scene.

Police say they have information that Naldjian had been drinking at a bar before the collision.

Another court appearance is scheduled for September 11.

Amelia Lamping, a graduate of Poland Seminary High School and Youngstown State University, was a mother of four.
