Mahoning Vets offered free bus ride to Conneaut D-Day reenactment

YOUNGSTOWN  The Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission is organizing a free bus trip for local veterans and their guests to the 81st Anniversary of D-Day Conneaut on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025.

The event in Conneaut includes reenactments of the June 6, 1944, Normandy invasion. Attendees can observe battle recreations, interact with living history reenactors representing various World War II forces and civilians, and explore historical exhibits and encampments. Demonstrations of weapons, vehicles, boats, and aircraft are also part of the event.

Veterans interested in attending may bring one guest. The guest is not required to be a veteran.

The bus will depart from 345 Oak Hill Avenue in Youngstown. Participants should arrive by 6:30 a.m. for a 7 a.m. departure. The bus is scheduled to return to Youngstown around 6 p.m.
