Truck & Tractor Pull, pocket pets part of Friday's Trumbull County Fair

The Trumbull County Fair continues Friday with a full schedule of livestock shows, live music, and grandstand events.

Gates, including Gate C, open to the public at 10 a.m.

The day begins with equine events at the Sawyer Ring, including the Muddying of Horses for the Groom N' Clean Contest, followed by the Equine Ranch Show and freestyle riding. Junior Fair judging will also take place for reptiles at the 4-H Block Building, poultry showmanship and market show at the Poultry Barn, and the dairy show at the Dairy Ring.

Exhibition Halls and vendor areas will be open at 10 a.m. A Fair Housing Presentation is scheduled at the Historical Stage.

Afternoon activities include the Junior Fair Beef Showmanship and Open Class Beef Show at the SALE Barn. A spelling bee, sponsored by the Trumbull County Retired Teachers Association, is set for the Historical Stage, with registration closing at 12:45 p.m.

Live music performances throughout the day include Dynamic Duo and Solo Sixstring on the Bicentennial Stage, and Strange Daze on the Historical Stage.

Mechanical rides will open at 1 p.m. and again at 5 p.m.

Friday's grandstand event, the Trumbull County Fair Bud Rodgers Memorial Truck & Tractor Pulls, begins at 6:30 p.m. Grandstand events are free to attend throughout the fair.

Evening events include a Junior Fair Poultry show and a Junior Fair Goat Show at the SALE Barn, featuring showmanship, dairy breeds and outstanding project categories. The Open Class Dairy Show will be held at the Dairy Ring, followed by the Open Class Dairy Goat Show at the SALE Barn.

The Rabbit Barn will host the Fair Pocket Pets Exhibition and the Junior Fair Cavy Show. The Junior Fair Equine Fun Show is scheduled for the Sawyer Ring.

Live music continues with Jim Hein on the Bicentennial Stage and Mane Attraxion on the Historical Stage. The ODNR Animal Show will be presented at the Historical Stage.

The Francis Tennant Memorial Equine Versatility Competition is scheduled for 4 p.m. with tack check, and the versatility competition at 5 p.m. The Junior Fair Dance in the Dirt will take place at the Sawyer Ring.

 

The 179th Trumbull County Fair runs daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 899 Everett Hull Road, concluding Sunday, July 13. General admission is $14, while senior citizens aged 62 and older can enter for $5. Children 36 months and under are admitted free.

Daily admission tickets, excluding Tuesday, include mechanical rides.
