Festival season is in full swing, and the City of Girard is gearing up to host its annual Mount Carmel Festival at 33 West Wilson Avenue.
The festival kicks off Saturday, July 12 at 6 p.m. and continues until Wednesday, July 16. It will feature plenty of food, games, rides, bingo, bounce houses and nightly live entertainment.
Ride passes are around $20.
Live entertainment includes Cin City and the Saints from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, the Blue Collar Band from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Ovation from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Common Ground from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday, Dead Flowers from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday, the Girard Community Band from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and the Blue Coat Band from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Other things to look forward to include half-price rides and food specials from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, as well as a parade at the IHF at 10 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. mass at St. Rose Church Wednesday.
New this year is a touch-a-truck event from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, and as always, the festival will conclude with fireworks at 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
