State police are investigating after ten mailboxes were either stolen or damaged in Lawrence County on Saturday.
The first incident was reported at 7:18 a.m. on George Washington Road. A 55-year-old man in Volant told police that someone damaged two of his mailboxes and a light post. The estimated damage is $200, according to a police report. The suspects left the area, and the police don't know which way they went.
Less than an hour later, eight mailboxes were reported stolen from State Route 956. Eight people said their mailboxes, each worth $100, were taken.
The victims include four people from Volant and four from New Castle, ranging in age from 18 to 72. The total value of the stolen mailboxes is $800. The unknown suspects took the mailboxes and drove off in an unknown direction.
Pennsylvania State Police from the New Castle barracks are asking anyone with information about either of these incidents to call them at 724-598-2211.
