Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has released the results from the post-election audit for the May primary.

LaRose said the statewide primary and special election showed a 99.99% accuracy rate.

According to the release, a psot-election audit is a comprehensive review of results to verify the accuracy of an election.

Before an election is held, county boards of elections have to do full battery of logic and accuracy testing on all voting equipment. After the election ends, a biparisan team from county boards compare tabulated results to paper ballots to ensure accuracy.

Ohio's county boards are required to audit election results after each election.

"Public confidence in our elections starts with showing and then double-checking our work," Secretary of State Frank LaRose said. "I'm proud of the bipartisan team of election officials across the state that proves time and again why Ohio is the national gold standard for election administration."
