YOUNGSTOWN New life and new beginnings could be found at the Northside Pool in Youngstown on Saturday, July 19.
Multiple pastors and clergy from local churches gathered for a Citywide Baptism to offer individuals the opportunity to be baptized.
After a successful baptism in 2024, Darrell Jones, the creator of the event, wanted to bring it back for a second year.
Jones said events like this can create a lasting, positive impact and that everyone is accepted with open arms. It also gives them a chance to understand the purpose and significance of being baptized.
"The more people that we can get involved in a baptism, the more lives we can change," said Jones. "It's not about a denomination. All believers in Christ are welcomed."
During the baptism, several people joined hands and gathered in prayer and celebration.
Due to the event, the Northside Pool will be closed on Saturday. The pool will resume its regular hours starting on Monday, July 21.
