Firefighters battle blaze, smoke in Damascus from tire pile fire

Firefighters were on the scene of a blaze and smoke in Damascus.

According to a dispatcher with the Damascus Fire Department, the call came in around 4:45 p.m. for a fire at Martig Farms, located at 10210 State Route 534 near Damascus.

The source of the blaze was a large pile of tires.

A picture from the scene showed several firefighters battling the flames.

21 News crews on the scene said that water tankers had to be brought to the scene to help put out the fire.

No one was hurt in this incident, according to the dispatcher.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
