Taylor-Winfield acquires Boardman’s George A. Mitchell assets, expands product line

YOUNGSTOWN Taylor-Winfield Technologies, Inc., a Youngstown-based company specializing in custom material joining, induction heating, and automation equipment, announced Tuesday it has purchased most of the assets of the Boardman-based George A. Mitchell Company. The acquisition includes the company's technology and expertise.
George A. Mitchell Company, founded in 1963, manufactures specialized machinery for shaping metal tubes and pipes. Their products include "push pointers," which are machines that narrow the end of a tube or pipe so it can be easily fed into other machinery for further processing. They also produce "end forming machines," which are used to change the shape of the ends of tubes or pipes for specific applications, such as creating a flare or a bend. This equipment, along with their tooling, has been used in various industries worldwide.
Donnie Wells, President of Taylor-Winfield Technologies, stated in a news release that acquiring the George A. Mitchell technology helps preserve a respected legacy. He also noted it adds a new line of products to Taylor-Winfield Technologies in the tube and pipe industry. Wells added that Taylor-Winfield intends to continue supporting past George A. Mitchell Company customers by providing spare parts, service, new machines, and enhanced automation.
Paul F. Russo, former President and co-owner of the George A. Mitchell Company, said their mission has always been to deliver equipment that meets customer needs. He believes Taylor-Winfield shares this vision and is confident this transaction will uphold and advance that commitment.
Guy Coviello, president & CEO, Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, said, “The acquisition of George A. Mitchell Company by Taylor-Winfield Technologies, Inc. is more than a business deal—it’s the continuation of a respected legacy and a new chapter for manufacturing in the Mahoning Valley. George Mitchell Company’s globally trusted equipment now strengthens The Brilex Group’s capabilities and reach.”
“This move reinforces our industrial base and advances the region’s standing in world-class production. We commend both companies for honoring tradition while forging the future,” added Coviello.
Taylor-Winfield Technologies products include coil joining, automated assembly systems, resistance welding, induction heating, arc welding systems, and laser welding systems.
