CHAMPION TWP., Ohio - An OVI checkpoint has been announced for Trumbull County. 

The Trumbull County OVI Task Force announced that an OVI checkpoint will be conducted in Champion Township Thursday evening. 

The checkpoint will run from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Mahoning Avenue. 

The OVI checkpoint is funded by federal grants, and is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. 

Motorists always need to make arrangements to get home safely if they are planning on consuming alcohol.
