A multi-agency drug task force that included two police K-9s arrested a man who authorities characterized as a "large-scale supplier of narcotics" in Columbiana County on Wednesday after a raid on a Wellsville home collected suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and other drugs.
Dwayne Walker, also known as "Draco," was apprehended in the backyard of a Commerce Street home after allegedly attempting to evade officers by jumping from a second-story window, according to a news release from the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office.
Walker was the focus of a "long-term investigation" by the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, which had identified him as a major source of narcotics for the southern half of the county.
Inside the home, agents say they found 270 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 35 grams of suspected cocaine, 12 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 12 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 130 doses of suboxone. Authorities also seized $1,345 in cash and suspected drug packaging material.
Deputies from the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office assisted in the operation, along with K-9s Rebel and Noras from the St. Clair Township Police Department.
Formal charges against Walker were not immediately available, but the investigation is ongoing.
