The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced its maintenance schedule for the week of July 28, 2025. Several roadways will be impacted by planned repairs and improvements throughout Mercer County.
Daytime closures to through traffic are expected due to pipe repair work on Sheakleyville Road (Route 1018) in Deer Creek and French Creek townships, as well as paving operations along Route 58 in Green Township.
Detours will be posted, and motorists are advised to allow for extra travel time.
In addition to the closures, PennDOT crews will be conducting a variety of maintenance activities across Mercer County. These include bridge repairs on Route 58 in Green Township, sign upgrades in various municipalities, bridge washing across the county and spray patching on several roads, including Route 173, Route 58 and District Road.
Crack sealing is also scheduled for Route 19, Route 208 and New Castle-Mercer Road, while additional pipe repairs will continue on Sheakleyville Road.
All scheduled work is weather-dependent and may be adjusted in the event of inclement conditions.
PennDOT also notes that fill dirt left over from maintenance operations may be available to nearby property owners. Interested individuals must have accessible property near a work zone and submit a completed M-666 packet to be eligible.
PennDOT reminds drivers to remain alert and cautious when traveling through work zones. Motorists should slow down, eliminate distractions, and follow signs and flaggers for the safety of both workers and fellow drivers.
