Niles begins city wide street resurfacing project

NILES - The Mayor of Niles reminds city residents that a major street resurfacing project begins on Monday in an ongoing effort to update the city's infrastructure.

The project affects specific streets across the entire city and has been budgeted for approximately $1.7 million, according to Mayor Steve Mientkiewicz's office.

He asks that residents be mindful of construction zones and patient with traffic delays and detours.

Construction is expected to last approximately one month, with no specific schedule regarding which streets will be completed first.

Crews will begin their work in the 2nd Ward, or the east side of the city.

The following streets will be resurfaced over the course of the project:

1ST WARD (North side):

• Mauro Circle (Deforest to Cul-de-Sac)
• Bentwillow (Cassandra to Trumbull)
• Summerberry (Camrose to Trumbull)
• Trumbull (Camrose to End)
• Frederick (George to End)
• Old Forge (Mill Creek to End)
• Susan Court (Nancy to End)
• Roberts (North Road to End)
• Cynthia (George to End)

2ND WARD (East side):

• Fairview (Robbins to End)
• Hazel (Robbins to Belle Terre)
• North Rhodes (Hogarth to Cul-de-Sac)
• McEvoy Court (Clinton to Cul-de-Sac)
• James (Timber to End)
• Poplar (Robbins Ave. to James)

3RD WARD (South central side):

• Stepney (South Cleveland to End)
