The Hubbard City Police Department (HCPD) is gearing up for a saturation patrol on Tuesday to crack down on traffic violations as the back-to-school season approaches.
A saturation patrol is when a large number of police officers densely patrol one area.
Officers will be focused on watching for speeding and distracted driving, according to the Facebook post announcing the patrol.
"The extra visibility prevents people from breaking laws and will hopefully discourage people from dangerous driving. There's a lot of kids out and about with school coming up soon, and we want to keep them safe," says HCPD Sergeant Howard Haynie.
The HCPD reminds drivers to put their phones down, watch their speed and stay alert.
