William Kiehl
LISBON A Lisbon man accused of having child sex abuse material was in court Monday.
William Kiehl, 66, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Columbiana County Municipal Court Monday afternoon.
According to documents, the court found probable cause that Kiehl committed the offense and ordered the case to be bound over to the grand jury.
The charges stem from an investigation led by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. An affidavit revealed that agents served a search warrant at Kiehl's home on July 18.
The affidavit states that Kiehl allegedly uploaded an image of a child who appeared to be under the age of five engaged in sexual activity.
During an interview on Friday, investigators say Kiehl admitted to uploading the image and said he had obtained other images and child sexual abuse material, according to court documents.
Kiehl's charges are both felonies. Pandering obscenity involving a minor is a second-degree felony, while illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material is a fifth-degree felony.
