WARREN One person is dead after crashing into a utility pole in Warren Tuesday evening.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP), the crash happened on Pine Avenue near Burton Street shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Troopers say 41-year-old Corey Hurst was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway.

From there, the vehicle overcorrected and went off the left side of the roadway and crashed into a utility pole.

Hurst was taken to the hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

OSP did not say whether or not drugs or alcohol were believed to be a factor in this crash or whether or not Hurst was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
