AUSTINTOWN The Austintown Local School Board unanimously voted in favor of putting two renewal levies for the district on the November 2025 election ballot.

Board President Fred Marcum tells 21 News both levies have been in effect for several years, so township residents will not have to pay any new taxes if these levies pass.

Voters must decide on whether or not to renew these levies every five years.

The first levy is 4.9 mils and costs residents around $62 per $100,000 of their appraised property value, and the second is 7.3 mils and costs residents about $112 per $100,000 of their appraised property value.

The revenue generated by both levies pays for the district's current expenses.
