The closure of two manufacturing facilities in Alliance will result in the elimination of 153 jobs by the end of the year, according to a notice filed with the state of Ohio.

Trilogy Plastics Alliance, Inc., a rotational molding manufacturer, informed the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services on Thursday that both of its plants, located at 2290 W. Main St. and 500 W. Main St., would be permanently closing.

According to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notice, the company anticipates that most jobs will be eliminated between Sept. 30 and Oct. 14, with jobs continuing to be cut over the following months as operations wind down.

The notice lists a total of 153 positions across various job titles, including 32 Assembler I positions and 32 Machine Operator positions. The notice states there are no bumping, transfer, or recall rights for the affected employees. The company does not have a union.

In a quarterly report published this week, Myers Industries, Inc., the parent company of Trilogy Plastics, stated that it is idling the two Alliance facilities to consolidate production at other locations. The move is part of what the company is calling a "Focused Transformation program" and is expected to result in at least $3 million in savings annually.
