YOUNGSTOWN The Covelli Centre, located at 229 East Front Street, played host to community members for the annual "Black Men's Wellness Day" event.
According to those involved with the event, over 700 people came together to make the event happen, such as vendors, sponsors and community members.
The aim of the event is to understand health disparities, take actionable steps towards better health and to celebrate the strength and resilience of the community.
Featured at the event were free health screenings, such as blood pressure checks to more comprehensive screenings.
Additionally, a kids zone and senior pavilion were available to community members as well, aiming to provide wellness information to those of all age groups.
"Today is probably the most fun that you'll ever have at a doctor's appointment," said Anthonie Jackson, Senior Director of Technology for the National Center for Urban Solutions.
Jackson also told 21 News that they had over 200 participants receive screenings.
