The Ohio Arts Council approved a $23.3 million grant on Monday; the Cliffe College of Creative Arts and the John J. McDonough Museum are set to receive $12,640 of the approved grant money.

Youngstown State University (YSU) said in a statement that the university's art center was awarded the funds through a sustainability grant for the 2026 fiscal year. The sustainability grant from the arts council represents "flexible and reliable funding" for arts providers across Ohio, YSU said.

The McDonough Museum of Art plans to use its grant funding to support a variety of arts programs such as the Emerging Artist series.

"The funding also provides opportunities to collaborate with the community to help create programs that matter," YSU added.
