Danny McFadden
A Ravenna man originally arrested by Niles Police in June has been indicted in Trumbull County on 28 counts of sex-related crimes involving children.
The crimes that 75-year-old Danny McFadden has been charged with date back to November of 2017 through May of 2025, with the majority specifically noted as involving a five-year-old girl at the time of the first offense.
McFadden's charges include 17 counts of first-degree rape, eight counts of third-degree gross sexual imposition, and three counts of fourth-degree gross sexual imposition, according to the indictment from the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas.
McFadden's pre-trial has been reset to take place on August 13. This will be the sixth pre-trial hearing of the case.
The indictment notes that the victim of the first-degree rape and third-degree gross sexual imposition charges was a minor less than 13 years old and that a grand jury has factually found that McFadden "purposefully compelled the victim to submit by force or threat of force." The charges are also dated concurrently, with one charge's period ending the same day the next begins.
The three counts of fourth-degree gross sexual imposition do not specify that the victim was under 13 years old and are dated separately with two charge periods beginning January 1, 2017, through December 31, 2018, and one charge period beginning January 1, 2018, through December 31, 2019.
Booked into the Trumbull County Jail in June, Niles Police originally charged McFadden with five counts of rape.
Due to a reported conflict with a jail staff member in Trumbull County, McFadden is being held at the Portage County jail as the case proceeds.
