A man is facing charges after a dog was found abandoned earlier this week in Warren Township.
John R. Greer Sr., 51, of Warren, was charged with abandoning animals and cruelty to animals, according to records from Warren Municipal Court. Both are misdemeanor charges.
The charges stem from an incident on Tuesday when a dog was found abandoned near Risher and S. Leavitt roads.
Jason Cooke, president and CEO of The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project, said video surveillance captured a man taking a dog out of a pickup truck and driving away.
The truck's owner told police a man had borrowed his vehicle. Cooke's organization shared images of the individual on social media, asking for the public's help to identify him.
A warrant has been issued for Greer's arrest.
