BOARDMAN Mill Creek MetroParks is in negotiations with a telecommunications service provider to put a cell tower on MetroParks' property in Boardman.

Aaron Young, Executive Director of Mill Creek MetroParks, told 21 News that Pyramid Network Services proposed the idea in 2024 and the two have been in negotiations ever since.

Pyramid Network Services, according to its website, is a nationwide infrastructure services company.

The proposed cell tower would go along East Parkside Drive, just east of the Boardman Township treatment plant.

Young told 21 News that no trails or facilities would be affected if the cell tower were put in place on the property.

"We do anticipate improved access to the property as part of this agreement, and [we're] working on some of those details now," said Young.

Young says an official agreement has not been made yet and that there is no timetable for the project.

Young continued that those details would have to be ironed out if an agreement is officially made between Mill Creek MetroParks and Pyramid Network Services.
