Flames light up the sky as Hempfield garage burns

Investigators are looking for the cause of a blaze that lit up the skies over part of northern Mercer County early Monday.

Dispatchers got a call before 6 a.m. reporting that flames had spread through a garage along Wasser Bridge Road in Hempfield Township.

Firefighters from several departments were called out, finding that the garage had already burned to the ground.

 A neighbor told 21 News he spotted the flames and knocked on the door of a nearby home to make them aware of the fire.

Wasser Bridge Road was closed between Route 19 and Keystone Road while crews put out the fire.

No injuries were reported.
