YOUNGSTOWN Youngstown State University will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to celebrate the launch of its new Radiologic Technology program and lab.
The event is planned for 10 a.m. in the Cushwa Hall Atrium on the YSU campus. It will include remarks from university and community leaders, a ceremonial ribbon cutting, and guided tours of the new lab.
The Bitonte College of Health and Human Services is hosting the event to mark the opening of the new state-of-the-art facility, which is designed to provide hands-on training for students entering the new Radiologic Technology program. Representatives from program partners, including Akron Children's Hospital and Mercy Health, are expected to attend.
YSU announced the new 22-month program in February, which leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Radiologic Technology and prepares students to take the national certification examination required to practice as a radiologic technologist.
