Police: Two Boardman carjacking incidents were connected

BOARDMAN Police in Boardman have arrested a juvenile suspect connected to two separate carjacking incidents in the township.

According to a police reports, a 17-year-old male was arrested in connection with a carjacking incident at a restaurant near the intersection of Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard August 8, as well as another incident at another store just four days later.

In the first incident, two teenagers told police they were eating in a car when several armed juveniles in ski masks forced them out of the vehicle and drove away in the vehicle.

In the second incident, a woman was inside the store, when an employee alerted her that people were trying to get in her car. Police said the woman tried to stop them, but ultimately failed, getting into a fight with the juveniles and eventually getting dragged by the car.

According to police, a female suspect was arrested in connection with the first incident and another male suspect was arrested shortly after the second incident.

Updated police reports for both incidents show a 17-year-old suspect who was in police custody Friday, August 15. The reports indicate he was arrested in connection with both carjacking incidents.
