Power cut to hundreds on Youngstown's Southside

YOUNGSTOWN Hundreds of FirstEnergy customers in Youngstown spent part of Wednesday morning without electricity.

A passerby reported a transformer on fire in the area of Canfield Road and Glenwood Avenue just after 7 a.m.

According to the FirstEnergy website, 1,164 homes and businesses on Youngstown's Southside had no power as of 8 a.m. The traffic light at the intersection was also out for a time.

The power and the traffic light are now back on.
