Youngstown teen missing since August 31 found safe

YOUNGSTOWN A Youngstown teen who was reported as missing has been found safe, according to a family member.

The Youngstown Police Department is seeking help in finding a teenager who has been reported missing since August 31, 2025.

According to a police report, officers with the Youngstown Police Department responded to the area of the 800 block of Scioto Street to take a call related to a runaway juvenile on August 31.

There, officers spoke with the mother of the child, who told police that her daughter, An'Janae Brooks, had run away from the home around 9:40 a.m. that day.

Brooks is described in the police report to be 14-years-old, have dark skin, standing about 5-feet-2-inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds.

She is further described as having short dreads, glasses and a spider tattoo.

Brooks was last seen wearing a black hoodie with black jogging pants.
