A group of protesters gathered to voice their opposition against ICE near the Eastwood Mall in Niles, claiming they're transporting migrants out of the area and outside of the U.S. without due process. Their message is that no human is illegal.
"There's no reason why we can't appreciate them as human beings and they're just not doing that," Lee Bell, a protesters from Austintown said. "ICE is injustice, it's corruption, they're evil," he said.
It doesn't sit right with these protesters the way ICE has been handling immigration raids and deportations.
"If they're going after criminals that's one thing but they're not doing that, they're going after anybody that they can that Donald Trump wants out of the country and a lot of these people are working and contributing to our society and they're just trying to make a better life for themselves," Bell said.
Protesters were removed from Mall property and then monitored by several police departments.
"For decades now, we've not permitted any kind of political activity no matter which side of the conversation it is. we just simply refuse to let any political activity take place on the complex," Joe Bell, Eastwood Mall spokesperson said.
Protesters emphasize that they want to keep the public on alert.
"I just wanna keep making America aware of what's going on because we're losing our democracy," Lee Bell said. "You know, they're coming for immigrants right now and pretty soon they're gonna be coming for everybody else that doesn't fit their perfect American person," he said.
