Crash shears pole on Youngstown's East Side, closes road

YOUNGSTOWN  A traffic accident shut down a stretch of McGuffey Road on Youngstown's East Side on Wednesday morning.

Police say a telephone pole was sheared at around 10:30 a.m. near a funeral home on the 1900 block of McGuffy, temporarily closing the road between Dryden and Berwick Avenues.

Dispatchers were told that someone was injured in the crash. 21 News is working to confirm that information.

As of 10:40 a.m., FirstEnergy was not reporting any power outages in the area.
