Mahoning Public Health plans walk-in flu shot clinics throughout county

If you're planning to get a flu shot this year, Mahoning County Public Health (MCPH) is hosting a number of clinics throughout the county.

The organization currently has more than a dozen flu vaccine clinics scheduled between October and early November.

Below is a list of the schedule:

• October 1: Village of Sebring Administration Building (135 E. Ohio Avenue, Sebring) from 10 a.m. to noon
• October 2: MCPH Building (50 Westchester Drive, Austintown) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
   
   
• October 3: Beaver Township Woodworth Park (225 Warren Avenue, Poland) from 3 to 5 p.m.
• October 6: Boardman Township Park Georgeanna Parker Activity Center (375 Boardman-Poland Road) from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
• October 8: Austintown Township Hall (82 Ohltown Road, Austintown) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• October 9: MCPH Building (50 Westchester Drive, Youngstown) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• October 10: Austintown Senior Center (112 Westchester Drive, Austintown) from 9 to 11 a.m.
• October 15: Boardman Township Building (8299 Market Street, Boardman) from 10 a.m. to noon
• October 15: Struthers Mauthe Park (156 Smithfield Street, Struthers) from 1 to 4 p.m.
• October 16: MCPH Building (50 Westchester Drive, Austintown) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• October 20: Green Township Community Building (12184 Lisbon Road, Greenford) from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
• October 21: Canfield United Methodist Church (27 South Broad Street, Canfield) from noon to 4 p.m.
• October 23: MCPH Building (50 Westchester Drive, Austintown) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• November 5: MCPH Building (50 Westchester Drive, Austintown) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The CDC recommends everyone 6 months of age and older to get a flu shot during each flu season. People at higher risk for flu-related complications include children ages 6 months to 5 years, adults over 50, pregnant women, residents of nursing homes, and those with chronic medical conditions.

Every MCPH clinic is walk-in, meaning there's no appointment necessary.

The organization will bill your insurance. You should bring your driver's license, insurance card or Medicaid/Medicare card.
