Crews were responding to the area of Colt Road and Route 11 in Pymatuning Township, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday.
Responders were dispatched around 11:15 a.m. for reports of a school bus and pickup truck crash, according to a news release from the Pymatuning Township Police Department.
TopCap Truck Accessories in Transfer provided us with security camera video of the crash as it happened. The video shows three buses traveling near the business when a white Ford F-150 pickup truck crashes into one of them as it enters the intersection.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the pickup truck was traveling south when it ran a red light and struck the school bus, which was transporting students.
Pymatuning Township Fire Chief Philip McClosky told 21 News that a total of 41 students and three adults were on the bus at the time, made up of two teacher chaperones and one bus driver.
The bus was transporting children for Reynolds School District.
Approximately six children involved were taken to the hospital by ambulance for suspected minor injuries. Additionally, the release states that the parents of the children have already been contacted.
The driver of the pickup truck was also taken to the hospital by ambulance for suspected minor injuries.
At this time, the accident is still under investigation.
21 News reached out to Reynolds School District for comment, but the district declined to comment.
