One lucky winner in Georgia has won the eighth-largest Mega Millions jackpot in the history of the game, totaling $983 million.

According to a news release, a single ticket in Georgia matched all six of the winning numbers pulled during the November 14 drawing, being 1, 8, 11, 12 and 57, plus the gold Mega Ball of 7.

This is the largest jackpot won in the state and in the month of November. Additionally, it is Georgia's first jackpot prize win since November 2016.

The holder of the winning ticket will walk away with either a $453.6 million cash prize payout or the full $983 million prize paid out over the course of 30 years.

In addition to the jackpot win in Georgia, several other winners throughout the United States were able to walk away with prizes of their own.

A total of 347 third-tier prizes of $20,000 to $100,000 were won in 40 different jurisdictions, including Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The record for the largest jackpot seen on the Mega Millions game remains at $1.602 billion, won in August of 2023 by a player in Florida.

Following Friday's win, the Mega Millions game will now reset to its starting value of $50 million ahead of the next drawing scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
