About 11,000 smoke detectors sold online through Amazon have been recalled due to their failure to warn users of fires.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recall involves three-packs of LShone Photoelectric smoke alarms that were sold on Amazon between February of 2024 and December of 2025 for about $30 each.
The CPSC says if the sensing threshold of security warnings is set too high, the alarms might not sound on time, which poses a serious fire hazard. So far, no incidents or injuries have been reported from use of this product.
The alarms are 9V battery-operated and have a light sound warning and test button. Alarms with the model number XG-7D04-KZ9ZZ and SKU number CX-50YP-A5VN are affected by this recall.
Anyone who has purchased a recalled smoke alarm set is asked to stop using the alarms and email lmm15957491237@163.com for instructions on how to receive a full refund through Amazon.
Customers are asked to discard the recalled alarms in their household trash.
